Our company is built around the principles of sustainability and the first order of business is to provide livelihoods for our 1500 employees. To do so, we continuously invest in the most advanced equipment and processes, giving our company the edge of not only survive, but thrive is these turbulent economic times.
As a result, we are committed to doing its absolute best not only in compliance, but actually lead the charge in social and environmental responsibility. Our initiatives and goals aim well beyond the triple-bottom-line. It's an ongoing process we pay close attention to, one that makes our stakeholders proud.
The things we've accomplished so far bring us a great deal of satisfaction and truth be told, only mark the beginning of our journey. So far, we have initiated the following programs:
Opened a child day care center on premise on July 25, 2011. This center is professionally staffed to give an educational boost to our pre-school aged children. A true one of a kind set up, it is equipped with a modern kitchen, rooms for nap, flat screen TVs, active chalkboards, soccer field, a playground and an organic vegetable garden.
Focused on reducing our energy consumption by installing natural lighting on roofs, LED lighting in manufacturing and office areas, and we are now exploring renewable energy solutions to reduce our conventional power needs by more than 60%.
Up-cycling programs converting left over materials into products to be used rather than be sent to waste.
Recycling programs to segregate all waste items into: plastics, metals, textiles, paper, and organics. We encourage our employees to embrace sustainability both in and outside of work.
We've expanded our home repair assistance programs to our employees most in need. We've provided materials and have repaired many employee homes as routine and in times of natural disasters.
Our factory workers also enjoy the benefit of an on-site clinic staffed with doctor and nurse and a dispensary for drugs and vaccines. In addition, we hold health and dental fairs at least twice per year so family members have access to professional care.
